Our history is written on our face in
a unique way. It is the skin itself and not the alignment
of two digits (30's, 40's or more) that should indicate
the ideal moment for a facelift.
Nowadays there isn't just one kind
of facelift available, but there are many depending
on the issue at hand. Every part of the face can be
remodeled and restretched in a particular manner to
safeguard the authenticity and to avoid the pitfall
of perfect standardization.
Every rejuvenation process must be intimately
linked to the embellishment process. Stretching the
skin must not be the ultimate goal because nothing is
more artificial looking than an "ironed" face.
The choice of procedure will be guided by the quality
and state of the skin as well as by the desired result.
Talking to our patient, explaining the
changes and offering a realistic insight, not hesitating
to refuse illusory and exaggerated demands, resisting
those who wish a maximum smoothing out effect by giving
priority to a natural effect: these are the many golden
rules that will prevent disappointment or worse, failures.
A procedure is successful when based on the whole process
and not just on its own.
Today a well-executed plastic surgical
procedure allows someone to look ten years younger.
And even if inexorably time continues its work, the
ten years of rejuvenation remain. It is necessary though
to adopt a healthy and balanced life style. However,
a victory only becomes real when the surgeon becomes
artist by bringing back harmony and freshness.
