Built at the end of the 19th century in
a magnificent location overlooking Lake Geneva, LACLINIC
was a gynecology and obstetrics clinic till the end
of the First World War. After that the building served
as medico-social establishment.
The challenge of the renovation: blending contemporary design and architecture typical of the beginning of the 20th century. Changing the interior while keeping the exterior façade its unique charm.
The Swiss architect, Mathias Jenny , of Vevey, has accomplished a remarkable feat with the collaboration
of the Bureau Zed of Zurich, responsible for the corporate
design of the establishment. Hannes Wettstein, interior design architect and director of the Bureau Zed is a reference of Swiss design. Professor at the Ecole Polytechnique
Federale in Zurich and at the Ecole des Arts Appliques of Karlsruhe, Germany, he is also a cutting edge designer who collaborates with Cassina or Artemide of Italy. He is also known for having created the interior architecture of the Hyatt Hotel on the Postdamerplatz in Berlin with
the collaboration of the Spanish architect, Raphael Moneo. He has designed the interior of the building while the beautiful exterior façade, typical of the architecture of the beginning of the 20th century, has been restored in collaboration with the project manager.
